ShowFX Asia highlights Singapore to international forex traders
ShowFX Asia is holding its forex conference at Marina Bay Sands on 16 August 2014. I got in touch with Project Manager Anna Deli to understand more about the show.
Me: What is the history of ShowFX in Asia? Which year did it get started?
Anna: The history of the show goes back to the beginning of 2009 when our brand ShowFx was created and then divided into two branches: ShowFx Asia and ShowFx World. ShowFx Asia operates exhibition events which are mainly held in Asia. ShowFx World presents exhibitions held all over the world.
Among our venues have already been Moscow, Kiev, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Cyprus, Singapore, Dubai and the list keeps growing.
We seek to engage the best brokers and target audience to our events. To do so, we invite the most experienced speakers from all corners of the world. Steve Ward, Dave Landry, Gavin Holmes, Bert Antonik, Choo Koon Lip and many others have already shared their strategies and perspectives with our guests as a part of our educational program.
ShowFx Asia also gives business awards to showcase companies involved in Forex and related spheres, as well as various prizes, diplomas and certificates.
We believe that financial opportunities should be available to anyone. That is why we provide traders free entrance to all our events.
Me: Why choose Singapore as a show venue?
Anna: This year we once again have chosen Marina Bay Sands, Singapore as a venue for our trading conference.
Apart from being a truly unique and beautiful place, Singapore is known for its highly-developed economy which is one of the freest, most innovative, most competitive, and most business-friendly in the world. The scale of transformation of the city in the recent years has been enough to propel Singapore into the ranks of the world’s leading financial centres.
Our exhibitions and conferences here annually gather traders, forex brokers and other players of financial markets not only from Singapore itself, but also from Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and all around the world.
Me: Indeed. According to the triennial BIS Survey, Singapore is the third largest foreign exchange trading centre is the world. Are there plans to go to other cities like Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh or Hong Kong?
Anna: Sure. Numerous Forex brokers that we cooperate with nowadays have offices and branches in the cities you mentioned. The list of the venues for our events is growing each year, and we try to do our best to provide traders free access to forex education all around the world.
Me: Can you tell us more about your target group? Is there any data you can share with us from last year’s show?
Anna: Our target audience mainly includes:
1. experienced traders, traditionally attend our events aiming to deepen their knowledge learning from experts and interact with other members of trading community (30%)
2. beginners in trading, seeking to grasp trading fundamentals and looking for the most profitable trading terms (40%)
3. wide audience, getting interested in Forex (30%)
Me: Are you targeting Singaporeans only?
Anna: No, not only. We invite to our conference Singaporeans as well as traders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and all around the world. All presentations at our events in Asia are delivered in English.
Me: How many visitors are expected at the show this year?
Anna: This year our Conference brings a great panel of speakers, including OANDA’s senior technical analyst Stuart McPhee, Online Trading Academy instructor Bert Antonik, Forex Asia Academy founder Choo Koon Lip and others. This allows us to expect the audience of up to 500 people.
Me: What products/services are offered by exhibitors at the show?
Anna: Our exhibitors are forex brokers offering a wide range of their newest services and trading bonuses. We also expect a number of raffles and prize draws among the visitors from our partners.
Me: Which countries do the exhibitors come from? Can you name a few who joined the show since the first time it came to Singapore?
Anna: The exhibitors are international forex brokers with offices in Asia and all around the world. Some of the exhibitors who have been with us since the first time are Instaforex, CMC Markets, SystemForex, UWC, Finance Roll, Online Trading Academy, UWC Financial Service, Forex Asia Academy, Traders Round Table and many others.
ShowFx Asia Conference 2014 brings together forex traders, brokers and education providers
I think that Singapore as a major forex trading centre would be incomplete if we do not look at also the activities of individual traders who trade forex as well as many trading educators and brokers that meet their trading needs. This is where ShowFX Asia comes in with a vision to bring all these players together. To individuals who are spoiled for choice among many asset classes to trade and invest, Show FX Asia is the only conference in Singapore for now that is positioned for forex only. In addition, I think that there is an additional function in the show that is being overlooked for now – as forex trading continues to grow in sophistication, who knows if it will become a trade show one day where we see other players like EA vendors, HFT developers come together to make deals.
ShowFx Asia Conference will take place at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on August 16, 2014. Follow the event’s website for the detailed information on the program and speakers.
